What is criminal record sealing?

​This is when you petition the court to seal a criminal record after a case is closed, the sentence is completed, and the petitioner waits the appropriate amount of time. Records for non-convictions, dismissal, no-files, successfully completed diversion programs, or deferred sentences can also be sealed by a petition if they were not already auto-scaled. Record sealing can help restore access to housing, employment, volunteer opportunities, public assistance, and a number of other rights and abilities. It is our belief that no-one should never be defined by their mistakes.  Record sealing is different from expungement and auto-sealing. It is important to note that not all records are eligible to be sealed, so it is our policy to review your full criminal record in a consultation to determine what records, if any, can be sealed.
