ABOUT MY PRACTICE

At Diamond Law our focus is primarily on estate planning and criminal record sealing.

What is estate planning?

Estate Planning involves creating bespoke packages to protect and express one’s wishes for their property after they pass.  This includes wills, trusts, power of attorney documents, deeds, and HIPPA releases. This gives you peace of mind that your assets and loved ones will be protected. By taking control of your future, you can avoid tax implications, probate, and a number of other headaches. There is no better time than the present to start creating your estate plan, especially if you own property, have a business, or have kiddos.  Ms. Diamond is experienced in creating estate packages, big and small, to meet all of your needs and goals. I am also available to help with business formation documents, including LLCs, as an add-on to any estate planning package.

What is criminal record sealing?

This is when you petition the court to seal a criminal record after a case is closed, the sentence is completed, and the petitioner waits the appropriate amount of time. Records for non-convictions, dismissal, no-files, successfully completed diversion programs, or deferred sentences can also be sealed by a petition if they were not already auto-scaled. Record sealing can help restore access to housing, employment, volunteer opportunities, public assistance, and a number of other rights and abilities. It is our belief that no-one should never be defined by their mistakes.  Record sealing is different from expungement and auto-sealing. It is important to note that not all records are eligible to be sealed, so it is our policy to review your full criminal record in a consultation to determine what records, if any, can be sealed. Ms. Diamond has helped with legislation about record sealing and serves on the Clean Slate Coalition for Colorado.  If you have a criminal record that has been holding you back and you are interested in a fresh start, don't hesitate to reach out!
